Pitaya Bowl (Dragonfruit)

The Colombian Pitaya (pronounced pee-tah-yah) is actually yellow, but the frozen red/purple kind are the only pitayas available at my local grocery stores.

Colombia is known for its wide variety of fruits and I feel like this bowl is a microcosm of all the colors, tastes, and textures found in Colombian fruits.

Below is my version of this bowl, but feel free to experiment with any other fruits or toppings available to you!

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 packets of a pitaya frozen smoothie pack (I use the PITAYA brand)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ½ cup of oat milk
  • ½ cup of frozen blueberry
  • Toppings: frozen wild blueberries, coconut flakes, flax seeds, chia seeds, honey, kiwi, and mango

Directions:

  • In a blender, add the pitaya packet, banana, oat milk, and blueberry
  • Blend for 30-45 seconds.
  • Place in a bowl and add your favorite toppings!
